I saw a technique for a 10 minute block demonstrated by Suzanne McNeil on YouTube, and couldn't wait to try it. I used some fabrics I'd had on my shelf for awhile that I'd purchased because I liked the colors and thought they went very well together, but I just never found the right project for them before this. The outer border and back were the only items I had to purchase specifically for the project, everything else was from my stash.
I quilted each block separately so I could practice with some new rulers, as well as practice my freehand quilting techniques. I used a green YLI variegated 100% cotton thread on top, Superior So Fine! on the bottom and Fairfield 80/20 cotton poly batting, so it's a fairly lightweight throw.
